The Beatles Remasters on Vinyl LPs
January 29th, 2010 by admin
Quite a few music lovers really believe that vinyl is the most ultimate way to listen to music. They think that there’s just a certain magic to watching the “black circle” (to quote Eddie Vedder) rotate and knowing that the amazing sound you’re hearing is coming from the needle rather than a series of 1s and 0s.
It’s this “magic feeling” (to quote The Beatles) that has Beatles fiends extremely excited about the strong possibility of The Beatles remasters making their way to vinyl in in early 2010. Although as of this moment no release date has been set, it’s believed that Apple (The Beatles Apple, not the computer company) is working on a vinyl LP release of The Beatles remastered stereo albums but there’s no indication that the mono remasters will also be released on vinyl.
The Beatles vinyl records that are available currently were created using the not so great 1987 digital remasters so these 2010 vinyl records should be as improved in sound quality as the new discs are when compared to the 1987 discs.
I am going to be ordering The Beatles Remasters Vinyl Records Box as soon as it is available for purchase (as I’m sure it’ll sell out fast) despite the fact that I have already bought all of the remasters on CD (and on The Beatles USB.)
According to the reports that I’ve seen, the remastered Beatles LPs will be available individually and as a part of a box set (just like The Beatles remastered stereo CDs.) The rumored release date is March 16, 2010 but there is a good possibility that won’t end up as the actual date.
In the meantime I definitely recommend that you buy The Beatles Remastered Stereo Box Set and The Beatles in Mono Box Set. They both sound fantastic. I end up listening to stereo mixes more often (as I just prefer listening to music in stereo more than music in mono, in general) but that being said, the mono remasters are very interesting to hear too.
